Ningyang Chen is a post-doctoral researcher-cum-teacher in the Department of English at Soochow University, Jiangsu, China. Her research interests include corpus linguistics, writing in English as an Additional Language and linguistic changes in modern Chinese. With a belated interest in history and a lifelong interest in language learning, she has assisted a number of Chinese historians in communicating with their international peers via translation and participated in a translation and research project on Millard’s Review of the Far East (1917–1922) run by the Department of History at Fudan University, Shanghai, China.
